There are three days left until we go to the polls drawing to a close an electrifying election season. Five of our State Senate and Assembly candidates are in tossup races and need your help to push them over the finish line:

Hannah-Beth Jackson (Senate District 19) is running against faux green energy entrepreneur Tony Strickland, who has released a barrage of negative ads against her. Jackson is running on a platform of restoring excellence in our schools, protecting our environment, fighting for consumers, standing up for the victims of domestic violence, and fighting for sensible health care reform. She needs your help to get her message out in these last days.

We will be in Santa Barbara volunteering to help Hannah-Beth turn this seat blue. Please email if you would like to join us.

Assembly candidate Alyson Huber (Assembly District 10), has an excellent chance of winning this seat, especially with the strong GOTV/field effort that’s occurring in her district and in the surrounding Third Congressional District. In the last election, winning this seat would have been unheard of. With a strong candidate like Alyson Huber and the current mood of the electorate, winning this seat is really BIG, so please help Alyson Huber.

Fran Florez is running (Assembly District 30) in the Central Valley. It is one of the few seats that Democrats hold in the Central Valley and there are very few elected women from the Central Valley/ Particularly disturbing is that Republican Danny Gilmore has been running a very unpleasant campaign against her. Fran needs your help so please donate.

Extra resources for any or all of the above candidates at this final stage could be the very thing that pushes them to victory.

While CALIFORNIA LIST supports our women candidates, we also strongly support human equality. We also encourage you to help defeat the insidious ballot proposition challenging the rights of teenage girls. This proposition is alters California Constitution in the new assault on abortion rights.

VOTE NO ON PROPOSITION 4

Parental notification laws don’t work — they just put teens in danger. Millions of dollars have flowed in from the far right to dial back a woman’s right to choose, and millions more have flowed in to dress it up as an issue about families. We’ve added the Campaign for Teen Safety to our ActBlue page to help defeat Proposition 4.
